JIMS is an IB (International Baccalaureate) School that
implements the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for its Early and Primary
Years to promote creativity, develop inquisitive minds, and encourage
self confidence. All are leadership ingredients for a bright future in
our interconnected world. At JIMS, creativity and excellence go beyond
school hours.
In the Secondary School, JIMS uses the Cambridge Curriculum
to help students get prepared for university from an early age. In Year
11 students take six Cambridge subjects that relate the most to the
university programs that they would like to attend. In Year 12, students
continue three out of these six subjects in which they have achieved
the most to further focus on areas that they will study in university.
The IGCSE-Cambridge Programme (Year 9 and 10) prepares students for
University of Cambridge administered exams and guides them in their
choice of the six subjects for Year 11. The Lower Secondary Programme
(Years 7 and 8) provides a transition for students who have just
graduated from the Primary school into the Cambridge structured
learning. Plan ahead of time for university with JIMS.
Located in the green Situ Gintung area in Ciputat, JIMS is
truly multicultural in character. Its students come from various
countries in Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Africa and the Americas. The
school places special emphasis on treating students as individuals,
recognizing their different needs and talents, thereby facilitating the
development of the whole child: body, mind and spirit.
JIMS was founded in 1995 under the name of the Jakarta
International Montessori School. In 2007, the school changed its name
to Jakarta International Multicultural School. JIMS is located on a 1.5
hectare campus in the green Situ Gintung area. The school area and
building are owned by JIMS with modern facilities, including a baseball
field, large library with extensive book collection, football field,
covered basketball court and two swimming pools. The school truly lives
up to its multicultural name. JIMS is fortunate to have a school
community which consists of representatives from five continents. The
number of students has increased in recent years and we now have more
than 170 students.
