The '2024 World University Rankings' released by the British global university ranking organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) on Friday showed that Korean universities have generally improved their rankings compared to last year.

The ranking, which ranks more than 5,000 universities in the world up to the 1500th position, included 43 Korean universities.

▶ There were five Korean universities in the top 100, the same number as last year.

All of them improved their rankings compared to last year.
Seoul National University 31st (41st last year)
Kaist 53rd (56th last year)
Yonsei 56th (76th last year)
Korea University 67th (79th last year)
Postech 98th (100th last year)

▶In the Asia category, Seoul National University ranked seventh.

The top in Asia is the National University of Singapore (8th)
Followed by
Peking University, China (14th)
Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (15th)
Hong Kong University, China (17th)
Tsinghua University, China (20th)
Followed by Seoul National University (31st) and the University of Tokyo (32nd).
Seoul University has overtaken its Korean-Japanese rival, the University of Tokyo, by one spot for the first time in nine years since 2015.
